Algeria is likely to increase oil and gas production

Algeria is aiming to increase its oil and natural gas production by 50% and 100 percent respectively within 10 years helped by major exploration success last year and by shale gas which would have an important role to achieve the ambitious plan. The minister projected Algeria's recoverable reserves at between 25 and 30 trillion cubic feet.

Successful shale test for San Leon in Poland

European oil and gas company San Leon Energy Plc, has reached a crucial milestone on the way to commencing commercial production of shale gas for the first time in Europe, reporting a sustained gas production rate of 45,000–60,000 standard cubic feet per day. Natural gas flowed from its Lewino well in a shale formation in the Baltic Basin in northern Poland.

IEA encourages Europe to increase shale gas output

The International Energy Agency (IEA) is encouraging Europe to boost its shale gas output, being concerned about high prices of European gas, suggesting Brussels to minimize the activity of energy-intensive industries such as cement and steel, while trimming the subsidies for green energy.

Europe prefers American gas to Russian

A new report from National Journal, said that some countries of Eastern Europe intend to reduce dependence on Russian energy, while forming a group to lobby Washington to ease export restrictions, in a move which will allow them to acquire the fuel from the United States.
