Daily (28.09.2021): German and French Cal’22 power contracts spiraled by 6% on Monday amid bullish gas and coal prices

Oil prices continued to climb on Monday, with Brent approaching $80 a barrel as the market remains focused on the increase in demand amid the coronavirus recovery and the tight supply from the US following the recent hurricane which limited production in the Mexican Gulf. Hence, Brent crude soared by $1.44, or 1.8%, to settle at $79.53 a barrel, having posted three straight weeks of gains. U.S. WTI crude rose by $1.47, or 2%, to settle at $75.45 a barrel, its highest level since July, after rising for a fifth straight week.

Daily (08.09.2021): European front-year power contracts hit fresh all-time highs amid strong gas, coal

Crude oil futures retreated on Tuesday as Saudi Arabia’s sharp cuts in crude contract prices for Asia raised fears over slower demand, but strong Chinese economic data and U.S. output outages limited losses. Hence, Brent crude declined by 0.7% to settle at $71.69 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude lost 0.8% to end at $68.35 a barrel.

TotalEnergies to Build EV Charging Network in Antwerp

TotalEnergies SE TTE announced that it has received a contract from The City of Antwerp, Belgium to expand and further develop the latter’s public charging network for electric vehicles (EVs). Per the deal, TotalEnergies will use its expertise to expand the existing network of the city of Antwerp by installing new EV charge points by 2024, including high power charge.

Orano signs contracts for return of German waste

France's Orano said it has signed contracts with German utilities EnBW, PreussenElektra, RWE and Vattenfall for the return of all the German nuclear waste remaining at its La Hague reprocessing plant. The entry into force of the contracts - worth in total more than EUR1 billion (USD1.2 billion) - is subject to the formal agreement of the German and French governments.
