Daily (16.12.2021): European carbon prices were bullish on Wednesday, due to volatile trading ahead of options contract expiry

Oil prices increased slightly on Wednesday, as bearish pressure from the spread of the Omicron variant was counterbalanced by a larger-than-expected drop in US crude reserves. Thus, both Brent oil and WTI crude inched 0.2% higher at $73.88 a barrel and $70.87 a barrel, respectively.

Daily (01.12.2021): Oil prices tumbled to their lowest levels since end of August amid Omicron fears

Crude oil prices tumbled on Tuesday following comments by Moderna's CEO Stephane Bancel that current COVID-19 vaccinations are unlikely to be as effective against the Omicron version. Hence, Brent crude for January sank by 3.9% to settle at $70.57 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude futures ended 5.4%, lower at $66.18 a barrel. Both contracts hit their lowest levels since August 23.

Russia says to fulfil contractual gas supply obligations amid Belarus threat

Russia will continue to meet its contractual gas supply obligations with its European customers, the Kremlin said Nov. 12, after Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko hinted Nov. 11 that Minsk could consider blocking the transit of Russian gas to Europe.

Virginia offshore wind project seeks regulatory nod, awards USD-1.9bn contract

Dominion Energy Inc (NYSE:D) said it will later today make a filing with the Virginia State Corporation Commission seeking regulatory approval for its 2.6-GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, the US’ largest offshore wind project.
