Daily (28.12.2022): European spot electricity prices fell sharply on Tuesday amid higher wind generation

Crude oil prices barely changed on Tuesday as restarts at some U.S. energy plants closed by winter storms offset gains from hopes of a demand recovery as China eases COVID-19 restrictions. Hence, Brent crude rose by 41 cents, or 0.5%, to settle at $84.33 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude settled 3 cents lower at $79.53 per barrel.

Daily (29.11.2022): Brent crude lost 0.5% on Mondy as unrest in China clouds demand outlook

Crude oil prices diverged on Monday. Brent crude declined by 0.5% to settle at $83.19 a barrel amid fears about a new global recession and fading oil demand. In contrast, U.S. WTI crude increased by 1.3% to close at $77.24 a barrel, spurred by talk of an OPEC+ production cut that offset concerns about severe COVID-19 curbs in China.

Crude oil prices increased marginally on Monday as a strong U.S. dollar and possible hikes to interest rates along with signs of tight supply offset worries about global economic slowdown. As such, Brent and WTI crude rose by 0.7%, to settle at $92.00 and $85.73 a barrel respectively.
