Japanese giant traders target Russia’s Yamal LNG Project

The Japanese firms, Mitsui and Mitsubishi want to join in the liquefied gas field project on Russia's Yamal Peninsula on the Arctic Ocean. The Yamal Peninsula is situated in the middle of the Russian coast on the Arctic Ocean, a convenient location for exporting liquefied natural gas both to Europe and the Far East.

Kazakhstan interested in building a nuclear plant.

Three Japanese companies, Japan Atomic Power Company, Toshiba Corp and Marubeni Corp, announced Wednesday that an agreement has been reached with Kazakhstan administration to provide data and cost estimates for the construction of a nuclear power plant with an advanced boiling water reactor.

Euro loses on economic concerns, Yen gains as backup currency
