Italy now has 16.9 GW of PV capacity installed
According to Italian energy agency Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), last month Italy added 170 MW of new PV capacity. This compares to about 214 MW registered in March and 126 MW for February. The GSE states this brings Italy’s total solar PV installed capacity to 16.9GW.

Russia to support the development of renewable energy sources
The Russian Energy Minister submitted on 15 April a draft law to Dmitry Medvedev, prime minister of Russia, which eyes supporting the development of renewable energy sources, such as solar power, wind power, and hydroelectric power.

BNEF: Green energy investments to triple by 2030
According to a new report offered by Bloomberg New Energy Finance, annual investments in renewable energy is likely to almost triple by 2030. Renewable energy systems will account for between 69% and 74% of all new power capacity added worldwide by 2030 due to the decrease in the cost of solar and wind energy technologies.

Enel intends to invest about 6 billion euro in renewables
The Italian energy firm Enel Green Energy plans to have about 12.4 GW of green power installed, an increase of 4.4 GW on existing power developments, with around 1 GW of that in place by the end of the year.
