Daily – CO2 auction platform rules approved by EU states
Brent crude increased on Wednesday as proposals from the European Commission to issue joint bonds recovered investors’ risk appetite on hopes for a resolution to the euro zone debt crisis. Brent crude futures rose 25 cents at $112.14 per barrel, while U.S. crude dropped 63 cents at $89.58.

German nuclear phase out will cause intensified CO2 emissions
According to analyst’s points of view, the Chancellor Angela Merkel's ruling coalition decision to phase out all Germany's nuclear reactors by 2022 will contribute to bigger CO2 emissions by an estimated 40 million tones, as Germany will switch to fossil fuels.

EU proposing a tax on carbon emissions
According to the European Commission reports, the European Union proposed a tax floor of 20euros per metric ton on fuels that emit CO2, including gasoline, diesel fuel, natural gas and coal starting from 2013.
