PV installations worldwide to reach 41 GW in 2014
Photovoltaic installations worldwide are expected to rise at their fastest pace in the last three years next year, reaching more than 40 GW and generating installation incomes of about 86 billion dollars. PV installations in 2014 are likely to rise by 17-18 percent, increasing from 15 % of last year and 13 percent in 2013. The highest rate of growth was last registered in 2011 with a 35 percent increase.

Scotland's renewables industry displaces record amount of CO2 emissions
According to official statistics, Scotland has recorded the largest ever drop of CO2 emissions. Scotland's renewable electricity industry generated 14,825 GWh last year, displacing 10.3 million tones of CO2, a 24% increase if compared to the 8.3Mt of CO2 displaced in 2011.

EIA: Renewables provide 14% of electricity generation in H1 2013
Renewable energy sources provided 14.20 % of the United States net electric generation during the first half of the year (through June 30, 2013), according to recent figures released the "Monthly Energy Review" by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). During the same period in 2012, renewables accounted for 13.57 % of net electrical generation.

Italy, Spain blamed by European Commission over failure to comply with renewable energy law
The European Commission has officially drafted two month deadline, requesting that Italy and Spain to complete their commitment to the EU's renewables directive to 2020, otherwise the two countries could be referred to the EU Court of Justice.

DECC: UK hits a new record high in renewable electricity generation in Q2 2013
UK’s electricity generation from renewable sources in the second quarter of this year hit a new record high of 15.5%, according to the figures provided by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
