Romania's Nuclearelectrica declared it will stop on December 23 its nuclear reactor number two at its Cernavoda nuclear power plant and detach it from the national electricity grid on Tuesday to solve a problem, which did not affected plant’s safety.

Verbund nine-month profit drops by 86%
Austrian utility Verbund registered a decline of 86 percent in group profit for the first three quarters of 2014 to 63.8 million euros ($81.3 million) because of decreasing electricity prices, reduced water supply and impairment losses on its Romanian wind farms.

Romania to become gas self-sufficient by 2020
