Gazprom agrees to join Eni’s Elephant oil field project in Libya
Gazprom, the Russian gas giant, has signed an agreement yesterday with the Italian gas company, Eni. The deal was signed in Rome and provides that Gazprom will buy a 33% stake in the Elephant oil field project in Libya, half of which is owned by Eni.

Russia’s Rosneft and ExxonMobil have found common ground regarding joint development of oil and gas resources in the Black Sea, which involves exploration and production in the Tuapse Trough, an 11,200-square-kilometers deepwater offshore area along the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar region.

Italian oil tanker attacked by five pirates
The Italian oil tanker, Savina Caylin was captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean on Tuesday with a crew of five Italians and 17 Indians on board.
