Swedish Vattenfall is authorized to build a 170-megawatt wind farm

Scottish government approved the construction of a 170-megawatt wind farm in southwest Scotland, Vattenfall declared on Monday. Now the company has the possibility to accelerate discussions with local communities – the East Ayrshire and North Galloway - about acquiring a 5% share in the project.

Norway government wins court appeal over lowered gas pipeline tariffs

A lawsuit brought by Solveig Gas, Silex Gas, Njord Gas Infrastructure and Infragas against the Norwegian government was ruled in favour of the government. The plaintiffs argued that Norway’s cut in gas pipeline tariff would cost them 15 billion Norwegian crowns ($1.8 billion) in lost earnings through 2028, which was illegal.

Germany produced record 35% of electricity from green energy in the 1st half of 2017

Germany’s electricity from renewable sources accounted for 35 percent in the first half of 2017, or an increase of 6% compared with the same period last year, according to the BEE renewable energy association.
