Approximately 29 million French households and small businesses deal with a retrogressive increase in their power bills after the country's administrative Supreme Court annulled on Friday a 2012 ceiling on raises to regulated electricity prices. The EIB has granted Spain a €475m loan for power grid upgrade

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted to Spain’s Gas Natural Fenosa a 475 million euro loan for upgrading its power grid. The loan have the objective to support utility firm Gas Natural Fenosa’s four-year programme of investment in upgrading and expanding the overhead distribution network, laying underground cables and building substations.

Scottish Power to invest 5.2 billion pounds in upgrading its power network

Energy giant ScottishPower has announced it plans to invest 5.2 billion pounds in upgrading its ageing power network. The energy firm has presented its proposals to Ofgem delineating the plans for expansion between 2015 and 2023. The investment would see more than 62 miles of power cables and 30,000 substations upgraded.

SSE has announced its retreating from Scotland-Norway Project

British utility SSE has announced it is retreating from a project to build a subsea electricity cable linking Scotland and Norway. SSE is one of the U.K.'s six major energy providers, and it added also that it will no longer have a financial involvement in the NorthConnect project as it intends to focus on investments in its domestic markets.
