Statoil sets $2.77 billion in maintenance deals in Norway

Norway’s Statoil unveiled on Tuesday that it awarded maintenance and modification contracts worth $2.77 billion (NOK24bn) for its offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities in Norway. The company said that the new compensation system is aimed to save on oilfield services and to encourage continuous improvement and higher productivity.

Statoil will invest in a new renewable project in Scotland

Statoil has recently announced that it intends to invest about 236 million dollars in a new renewable project in Scotland. They talk about building the first floating wind farm off the Scottish coast, near Buchan Deep. The project will consist of five floating 6MW turbines totaling 30MW, which should be enough to power 20,000 homes.

Statoil to defer commencement date for North Sea Mariner Project to 2018 as oil price slumps

Statoil, the Norwegian oil giant, has delayed the start date for the largest project in the UK North Sea for more than a decade, as the region is harshly affected by a plunge in crude oil prices since summer of 2014 and forced the world’s biggest companies to sharp spending cuts.
