Oil prices earned more than $1 a barrel on Friday, reaching a new four-year high, as U.S. sanctions against Iranian exports tightened global supply. Even if other main exporters such as Saudi Arabia pumped more oil, Brent crude edged 1.2% higher at $82.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude surged by 1.6% to $73.25 a barrel, supported by a report on a stagnant rig count in the U.S.

Oil prices jumped on Wednesday due to a decline in U.S. crude inventories and after sources announced that top exporter Saudi Arabia wishes to see the oil price close to $100 a barrel. Brent crude added $1.90, or 2.7 percent, to end at $73.48 a barrel. WTI futures were $1.95, or 2.9 percent, up at $68.47 a barrel, their highest level since late 2014.

Oil prices surged by almost 2 percent on Friday, buyout by increasing Chinese crude demand and threats of a strike in Africa's biggest oil exporter. Brent crude closed $1.20, or 1.9 percent, up at $63.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude prices rose 1.2% to settle at $57.36 a barrel.
