Daily (02.05.2019): The German spot power price soared by 49% on Wednesday, on forecasts for cold weather and low wind output

Oil prices declined on Wednesday, after EIA data showed a new record level of oil production since September 2017 and a surge in the crude inventories in the U.S. Brent crude lost 0.9% to trade at $72.18 a barrel, while WTI futures edged 0.5% lower at $.63.60 a barrel. Nevertheless, the losses were limited by the prospect of a weaker oil supply due to increasing unrest in Venezuela and the end of U.S. sanction waivers on countries importing Iranian oil.

Daily (18.04.2019): EU carbon prices climbed by 1.7% on Wednesday, amidst tighter supply and bullish gas prices

Crude oil prices edged lower on Wednesday, as EIA announced that U.S. crude stocks fell less than anticipated. Meanwhile, OPEC supply cuts and U.S sanctions limited losses. As a result. Brent crude slipped by 0.1% to $71.62 a barrel, while WTI futures traded 0.5% lower at $63.76 a barrel.

Daily (11.04.2019): The EU carbon prices hit a new 11-year high on Wednesday on Brexit delay optimism

Crude oil prices increased on Wednesday, after EIA report showed that U.S. gasoline stocks plunged more than expected last week, offsetting the surging crude inventories. OPEC’s oil production at four-year low in March coupled with U.S. sanctions on Iran and Venezuela lent more support to prices. Brent crude price rose by 1.6% to $71.73 a barrel, while WTI futures traded 1% up at $64.61 a barrel.

Daily (28.03.2019): WTI futures declined by nearly 1% after unexpectedly higher U.S. crude stockpiles data

Crude oil prices lost ground on Wednesday, following EIA data which showed higher-than-anticipated crude inventories in the U.S. last week due to hampered crude cargoes traffic along the Houston Ship Channel and slower refining operations. The fall in prices was nevertheless limited by OPEC’s supply cuts and the disruption in Venezuelan exports caused by the second massive power blackout this month. Brent crude traded 0.2% down at $67.83 a barrel, while WTI futures lost 0.9 % to end at $59.41 a barrel.

Daily (7.03.2019): European carbon prices declined by 3.3% on Wednesday due to a bearish energy complex

Crude oil prices were mixed on Wednesday, after U.S. data showed an increase in weekly U.S. crude stockpiles. A slump in U.S. equity indexes also weighed on the market. WTI futures traded 0.6% lower at $56.22 a barrel. However, Brent crude edged 0.2% higher at $65.99 a barrel, after EIA data indicated a larger-than-expected draw in U.S. distillate inventories.
