U.S. solar PV hit a new installation record in 2012

The U.S. installed 16 million of solar panels in 2012, adding 3.3 GW and representing a 76% annual growth, a tenth of the world market, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). The panels installed last year will generate about the same amount of electricity over a year as a medium-sized coal plant, enough to power 400,000 U.S. homes.

EIA: US oil production to increase by 25% by 2014

According to the Energy Information Administration, the US oil production will grow by a quarter in the next two years, to its highest level in 26 years. The US oil production would grow by 900,000 barrels per day (bpd) in 2013 to 7.3 million bpd. The reason of the increase in oil production is mainly because of the discovery of vast reserves of shale oil.

EIA: U.S. oil production to hike at a record level in 2012

U.S. crude oil production is hiking at the fastest pace in history, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), marking the largest rise in annual output since the beginning of U.S. commercial crude oil production in 1859.
