China to double its installed solar power capacity in 2013
Chinese government intends to add 10 gigawatts (GW) of installed solar power capacity in 2013, up from 7 GW at the end of 2012, this new goal will more than double its installed solar power capacity in 2013 in comparison to 2012 when they suffered heavy losses because of the sliding foreign demand as Europe cuts subsidies for green power and panel prices drop by 30 per cent last year, virtually erasing firms’ profits.

France to double its target for annual PV energy growth
French government has doubled its target for annual photovoltaic energy growth from 500 MW to 1000 MW and has also instituted a rescue plan for solar power industry. The measures are expected to spur investments by more than 2 billion euro.

Solar Energy in Germany up by 45% in 2012
According to German Solar Industry Association (BSV) solar power registered an increase of over 45% in comparison to 2011, with 1.3 million photovoltaic systems that were installed during 2012.
