Germany will increase its renewables levy

Germany’s Federal Network Agency Bundesnetzagentur has announced that renewable power subsidies tax for German consumers will increase by 47%, from 3.59 cents per KWh to 5.28 cents per KWh, by 2013.The Government added that it will extend caps on subsidies for solar energy to more technologies including wind and biomass.

Significant Irish wind project will supply with power the UK

The UK government is taking into consideration strategies to import wind power from Ireland to the National Grid via cables under the Irish Sea to north and west Wales. The cables would re-emerge at two sites in Wales with one of them at Pentir near Caernarfon, and the other one at Pembroke.
