EU's plan to reduce coal consumption and CO2 emissions

A new Carbon Capture and Storage plan to be projected in the Netherlands
The Netherlands is permitted to give state aid to a Franco-German project to capture greenhouse gas emissions from a power station and bury them under the North Sea, according to the European Union's regulator of competition.

The EU limit on greenhouse gas emissions increased by 5.8%
The European Commission revised up the limit on greenhouse gas emissions from heavy industry it will apply in 2013, announcing on Friday, a level of 2,039,152,882 tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is 5.8% higher than the provisional level of 1.927 billion set by the Commission in July.
