Oil prices diverged on Friday as the Iranian supply concerns and Asian pandemic situation put pressure on WTI crude price. As such, it fell by 0.8% to end at $66.32 a barrel. In contrast, Brent crude settled slightly higher on Friday at $69.63 a barrel amid improving demand outlook and strong economic data.

Polish solar output reaches record high

Solar power generation surpassed 3.4GW over 13:00-14:00 local time today, according to preliminary figures published by grid operator PSE, up from the previous record of 3.3GW yesterday. Wind power generation rose to around 7GW at 13:00-14:00 today, accounting for about one-third of Polish demand, PSE data show.

Crude oil prices rose on Tuesday despite OPEC+ decision to increase output slightly from next week and surging coronavirus infection rate in India. Hence, Brent crude increased by 1.2% to settle at $66.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude soared by 1.7% to close at $62.94 a barrel.

Russia aims to boost oil exports before reaching output peak in 2027-2029

Russia's revised oil strategy will focus on maximizing monetization from crude exports before hitting peak production in 2027-2029 and seeing world demand drop, according to a draft document on the development of the sector up to 2035 being reviewed by the State Duma and set to be approved by the government April 22.
