France was a net importer of power in Week 14 (April 5-11) as cold temperatures saw power demand rise sharply after the Easter weekend, while a combination of planned and forced outages in EDF's nuclear fleet saw its generation at a six-month low.

Daily (07.04.2021): Carbon EUAs rose by 4% on Tuesday, breaking a new record high

Crude oil prices increased on Tuesday, on optimism over demand recovery amid a fast vaccine rollout in the United States. Gains, however, were limited by OPEC+ members’ decision of an increase in their output. Brent oil ended 1% up at $62.74 a barrel, while WTI crude rose by 1.2% to $59.33 a barrel.

Daily (02.04.2021): Oil prices rebounded after OPEC+ decision to curb output cuts

Oil prices increased on Thursday following OPEC+ agreement to gradually increase output from May. Furthermore, expectations for a rebound in demand this summer also lent support to prices. Hence, Brent crude rose by 2.1% to settle at $64.86. At the same time, U.S. WTI surged by 3.9 % to close at $61.45 a barrel.

Daily (30.03.2021): Oil prices continued to add ground on Monday amid suggestions that OPEC+ may extend output cuts to May

Oil prices rose slightly on Monday, neglecting traffic resumption through Suez Canal, with investors mostly watching the next ministerial summit of OPEC+ countries later in the week. Additionally, reports that Russia would support a rollover of oil output curbs to May contributed to strength in oil prices. Hence, Brent crude rose by 0.6% to settle at $64.98 a barrel. At the same time, U.S. WTI crude increased by 1% to end at $61.56 a barrel.

Record gas output from Norway's Oseberg

Oseberg production available for sale of 25.7mn m³/d in January was the highest for any month since gas sales began from the field in September 2000. The field's gas blowdown process has begun, which involves a shift to gas production rather than gas reinjections as it approaches the end of its economic oil-producing life.
