Daily (07.05.2021): German power prices ended at multi-year highs on Thursday amid record CO2, bullish fuels
Oil prices reversed earlier gains on Thursday amid surging COVID-19 infections in India, but a report a day earlier indicating a large drop in the U.S. crude stockpiles hold the fall in check. Hence, Brent crude settled 1.3% lower at $68.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, US WTI crude declined by 1.4% to close at $64.71 a barrel.

Daily (28.04.2021): Strong demand, cold weather and strong fuels market provided support to British gas prices on Tuesday
Crude oil prices rose on Tuesday despite OPEC+ decision to increase output slightly from next week and surging coronavirus infection rate in India. Hence, Brent crude increased by 1.2% to settle at $66.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude soared by 1.7% to close at $62.94 a barrel.

EU defers decision on gas and nuclear as 'green' energy
The European Commission will not decide on whether to classify gas and nuclear energy as a possible green investments until later this year. The delay has caused controversy among some NGOs and consumer groups, who say fossil fuels such as gas should not be considered 'green'.

Seven European countries to halt export finance for fossil fuels
Seven European countries, including Germany, France and Britain, will commit on Wednesday to stop public export guarantees for fossil fuel projects, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Tuesday.
