EUAs hit an all-time high at around 51 EUR/t on Friday amid aggressive buying

Oil prices saw modest gains on Friday amid disappointing job report in the U.S. and despite the disastrous health situation in India, the world's third-largest consumer of oil. Hence, Brent crude added 0.3% to settle at $68.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude settled at $64.90 a barrel, posting a 0.3% gain day-on-day.

Daily (04.05.2021): EUAs rallied towards 50 EUR/tonne on Monday amid continuing speculation

Crude oil prices started the week on a front foot, as strong economic figures from China and a rapid coronavirus vaccination pace in the US overshadowed the concerns over increasing virus figures in India. Hence, Brent crude added 0.55 to settle at $67.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude increased by 1.4% to close at $64.69 a barrel.

Daily (29.04.2021): Carbon EUAs climbed by 1% on Wednesday supported by a bullish energy complex

Oil prices strengthened on Wednesday, supported by positive consumption data for black gold in the United States. Despite a slight increase in US crude inventories, according to the EIA’s weekly report, Brent oil gained 1.3% to $67.27 a barrel and WTI crude rose by 1.5% to $63.86 a barrel.

Oil prices retreated on Tuesday as a sharp increase in COVID-19 infections in India, Asia’s third-largest economy raised worries about demand recovery. Hence, Brent crude lost 0.7% to settle at $66.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude declined by 1.1% to end at $62.67 a barrel amid a surprise API inventory build.

Daily (07.04.2021): Carbon EUAs rose by 4% on Tuesday, breaking a new record high

Crude oil prices increased on Tuesday, on optimism over demand recovery amid a fast vaccine rollout in the United States. Gains, however, were limited by OPEC+ members’ decision of an increase in their output. Brent oil ended 1% up at $62.74 a barrel, while WTI crude rose by 1.2% to $59.33 a barrel.
