Daily: Brent crude settles higher on March contract expiration

Brent crude oil futures increased 6 cents in choppy trading on Wednesday as the front-month March contract expired at the end of the session. Meanwhile, Brent March crude boosted 6 cents, or 0.05 percent, to settle at $118.72 a barrel, having traded from $118.39 and $119.12. Brent April crude added 13 cents to settle at $117.88 a barrel.

Rosneft envisages doubling China oil deliveries in exchange for an oil-for-loan deal

The Russian oil major Rosneft is eyeing a $30 billion loan from China and is in talks with state-owned China National Petroleum Corp in exchange for doubling oil supplies to Beijing, in a move that could divert supplies away from Europe.

ABB and Eni signed a $40 million contract for export terminal on Ionian Sea

Switzerland-based power and automation technology group ABB has signed a contract with the Italian Energy Company Eni, to extend the export terminal of Eni's refinery in Taranto, located in the 'Mar Grande' bay on the Ionian Sea in southern Italy. The contract between ABB and the multinational Italian oil and gas company, is part of Eni’s strategy to improve its refinery infrastructure and ensure a connection with the onshore Tempa Rossa oil plant.

Daily: European power prices soar on forecasts for colder weather

Brent crude oil futures dropped on Monday on worries about the euro zone economy, while U.S. crude climbed and reduced the spread between the two contracts. Brent March crude declined 77 cents, or 0.65 percent, to settle at $118.13 a barrel, having traded from $117.54 to $119.07. Meanwhile, U.S. March crude increased by $1.31, or 1.37 percent, to settle at $97.03 a barrel, having traded from $94.97 to $97.09.
