According to GTM Research’s latest market report, the Smart Grid in Asia, 2012-2016, Asian electricity market is likely to build a smart grid market forecasted to reach 19 billion dollars value by 2016. The report appoints also the main strategies for the development of it and determines the companies that “suit” the best. Among these are identified ABB, BPL, Siemens, Holley Metering, etc.

Iraq raised oil exports to 2.508 mln bpd in April
According to the head State Oil Marketing Organization Iraq’s exports of crude oil increased to 2.508 million barrel per day in April from 2.317 million barrels per day in March.

EU and Japan cut Iranian oil imports in April

Would the fall in UK gas prices boost gas-fired power generation ?
The NBP UK season-ahead (winter) gas price has dropped over 5% since the end of March, and the contract failed to find support at key technical markets on its way to its current value. Rising supply confidence and bulging inventories have reassured traders that there will be enough gas to meet demand later in the year, leading to a downward price correction after a period of sharp gains.
