Vattenfall submitted plans for a new wind farm in Scotland

Swedish energy company Vattenfall has presented plans for the construction of a new wind farm on the south west of Scotland. The South Kyle Wind Farm would have about 50 turbines and a capacity of more than 170 MW, which should be enough to meet the annual electricity power demand of more than 90,000 households. It is expected that it will cost more than £190 million to build the wind farm.

Norway: 8 new wind farms to be build in a bid to triple capacity

Norway has an excellent wind power potential. Norway has an official goal of triple its capacity to more than 2 GW and to have 67.5 % of its energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020. The potential for wind power in Norway is however much greater than this and totally there is applied for 66 TWh with wind power in Norway.

New green tax for France

France’s Energy Minister Philippe Martin has announced last week that it is planning to introduce a new green tax, which should encourage industries and families to reduce energy consumption, assuring them that would not result in new tax increases, but he didn’t offered any details about what form it would take or when particulars would become available.
