France: $5.6 billion offshore wind tender awarded to group led by GDF

The French government has awarded a tender of 4 billion euro ($5.57 billion) to a consortium managed by French gas and power conglomerate GDF Suez on the construction and running of two offshore wind farms, as stated on Wednesday by French Energy Minister Segolene Royal.

Vattenfall to close carbon capture R&D

Siemens strikes the second onshore wind deal in Peru

Siemens, the German multinational engineering and electronics conglomerate, has been awarded a contract by Spain-based Cobra Energia to supply 97MW of onshore wind turbines to the Tres Hermanas wind project in Peru. The new wind plant is the second project that Spanish developer Cobra is performing with Siemens in Peru.
