World’s first offshore hydrogen production project yields first kilograms of green hydrogen
The offshore hydrogen production platform that Lhyfe is testing in France, named Sealhyfe, began producing its first kilograms of offshore hydrogen on 20 June after it was towed last month to the SEM-REV offshore test site which is connected to BW Ideol’s floating wind turbine Floatgen.

Renewable share of German power use climbs to 52.3% in first half
Renewable energy accounted for 52.3% of Germany's power consumption in the first six months of the year, up 3.1 points from a year earlier, on higher solar production and lower overall electricity usage, data showed on Tuesday.

Netherlands increases subsidies for green hydrogen production
The Dutch government on Friday said it will increase subsidies for the production of hydrogen from renewable sources of energy, known as 'green hydrogen', by 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) next year and another 3.9 billion euros in the years after.

Romania's OMV Petrom hails largest oil find in decades
Romania's OMV Petrom said it has made a series of oil and gas discoveries in southern Romania including its largest crude find "in decades". The discoveries could help the firm reduce the decline in its upstream production and increase the intake of domestic crude at its 85,000 b/d Petrobrazi refinery in Ploiesti.

Daily (08.06.2023): European carbon prices soared on Wednesday, impacted by a record build in speculative short positions
Oil prices moved higher on Wednesday as Saudi Arabia's surprise production cuts outweighed weak Chinese export data and rising US fuel inventories. Brent crude gained 0.9%, or $0.66, to settle at $76.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude traded up by 1.1%, or $0.79, closing at $72.53 a barrel.
