Russian crude oil output taps Post-Soviet High in 2011

According to preliminary figures published by Ministry of Energy, Russian oil output rose to a record level for the Post Soviet Era, registering an average production of 10.27 million barrels a day in 2011. This is due to the fact that companies in the largest global crude oil production nation took advantage of higher prices and raised output at new projects.

Brent crude prices fell on Friday as Europe’s debt crisis supported the dollar index recovery, extending the drop in oil prices for a second day after the announcement of the International Energy Agency about tapping oil from strategic reserves. Brent’s premium to US crude dropped under $14 a barrel intraday, from above $19 on Wednesday.

TAP chooses Greek pipeline as optimal route

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) designed to deliver natural gas from the Caspian region to Europe via Greece, Albania, and Italy, has finished its route refinement study of the pipeline section between Thessaloniki (Greece) and the Greek-Albanian border.
