Bulgaria gives green light to South Stream project

Following a meeting on 30 March between the head of the Russian energy giant Gazprom, Alexey Miller and Bulgaria’s newly appointed Minister of Energy and Economy Delian Dobrev, it was announced that the final investment decision on the construction of the South Stream pipeline, aimed at ensuring direct supplies of natural gas from the producer to the consumer, will be taken by 15 November.

Poland’s PGNiG to minimize the volume of natural gas purchases from Gazprom

Poland’s state-owned natural gas giant PGNiG has announced that it will reduce gas imports from Gazprom via the Yamal pipeline to around 85% of the contracted volume and will replace the missing volume with alternative resources from western European firms.

Daily – WTi and Brent end down on Saudi worries

U.S. and ICE Brent crude oil futures decreased over 2 percent on Friday as Saudi Arabia denied a report on a pipeline fire, reassuring markets over its oil supply, and a higher dollar led investors to pare their holdings in riskier assets in oil and other commodities. WTi crude for April delivery traded at 105.80 dollars a barrel, losing 3.04 dollars, while ICE Brent crude for April delivery valued 123.65 dollars a barrel, down 2.55 dollars.

Russia and France to build an additional gas pipeline to Europe
