UK: energy imports at their highest level in 2012

According to figures released by the government, UK’s energy imports reached record levels last year, increasing once more worries of possible blackouts in the future. The closure of old power plants, declining domestic reserves and low-emissions objectives all pose challenges to shift to low-cost sources of power.
