Total and Sonatrach extend their partnership in LNG

Total and Sonatrach have signed an agreement to renew their partnership in the field of LNG. This agreement notably allows to extend the existing supply contracts for three additional years in order to provide 2 million tpy of Algerian LNG to the French market, primarily through an LNG terminal at Fos Cavaou. The agreement also includes the sub-charter of an LNG tanker of Total by Sonatrach.

Daily (24.06.2020): EUAs surpassed the €25- level for the first time in four months on Tuesday amid bullish economic data

Crude oil futures pulled back off the highest levels since before the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday amid a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases and before the release of a weekly report which is expected to reveal that crude inventories have reached a new all-time high in the United States. However, the reassurance by the U.S. President Donald Trump that the trade agreement with China was “fully intact” limited losses. Hence, Brent crude declined by 45 cents, or 1%, to settle at $42.63 per barrel. At the same time, U.S. WTI crude settled 36 cents, or 0.9%, lower at $40.37 per barrel.

Iberdrola backs 49 MW of new wind via PPA with Vodafone Spain

Spanish energy giant Iberdrola SA has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with telecommunications operator Vodafone Espana SAU, which in part will support a 49-MW wind farm project in Spain.

Daily (16.06.2020): NBP spot jumped by 6% on Monday amid weaker LNG supply and wind power generation

Crude oil futures turned bullish on Monday as signs of improving demand due to OPEC+ production cut agreement offset concerns that a resurgence of the virus could weigh on the global economy. Hence, Brent crude for August delivery soared by 99 cents, or 2.6%, to settle at $39.72 a barrel. At the same time, U.S. WTI crude for July delivery rose by 86 cents, or 2.4%, to end at $37.12 a barrel.
