Swiss hydropower utilities might benefit from 38% water fee reduction

The Swiss government proposed on Thursday to reduce the maximum fee that hydropower utilities pay for water use to mountainous cantons by almost 38%. For a transition period from 2020 to 2022, 80 utilities will pay for water use only 80 Swiss francs ($82.32) per gross kilowatt usage from existing 110 francs.

Russia: Gazprom Neft purchases licence to develop the Novosamarskoye field, Orenburg Oblast

Gazprom Neft has purchased a subsoil usage license issued by the Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency for the Novosamarskoye field in the Orenburg Oblast. The license, for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, is valid until 5 May 2037. The total area of the licensed block is 26.56 square kilometers.

France will increase grid fees to fund energy transition
