BP to buy a $7.2 billion stake in India’s Reliance Industries

The British oil giant BP declared on Monday that it is interested in buying a stake in oil and gas blocks into India’s Reliance Industries. The total amount of the transaction is estimated to around $7.2 billion and with this acquisition BP hopes to gain a significant position in the Asian country after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Nabucco’s future decided by Azeri gas deliveries.

The chief executive of Austrian OMW, Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer reported to the Austrian newspaper, Kurier that the Nabucco gas pipeline project will be implemented only if the project partners will be able to secure big gas deliveries from Azerbaijan in the next months.

EU considers fusion between Nabucco and ITGI gas pipeline projects

EU officials are interested in a fusion between Nabucco, a Turkey-Austria pipeline, and ITGI (Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy), two strategic gas projects in order to carry gas from Azerbaijan to Europe and to reduce the Russian dependence on gas supplies.

Gazprom agrees to join Eni’s Elephant oil field project in Libya

Gazprom, the Russian gas giant, has signed an agreement yesterday with the Italian gas company, Eni. The deal was signed in Rome and provides that Gazprom will buy a 33% stake in the Elephant oil field project in Libya, half of which is owned by Eni.
