Statoil sold 24.1 percent of its gas pipeline stake

The Norwegian state energy giant, Statoil said on Monday that it will sell a 24.1 percent stake in the world's largest offshore gas pipeline network to an investment group including German insurer Allianz and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority for 17.35 billion crowns ($3.25 billion).

Russian government to keep gas tax for independent producers

The Russian government decided to keep the mineral extraction tax on the independent gas producers unchanged in 2012, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said on Wednesday. According to him, the increase of the mineral extraction tax will affect the gas monopoly, Gazprom.
