Daily: U.S. crude futures drop on ample inventories, Brent up on Libya unrest

U.S. crude oil futures dropped on Wednesday dragged down by higher-than-expected increase in stockpiles which weighted down prices, while unrest in Libya supported Brent. Brent crude boosted 43 cents to settle at $111.31 a barrel, after trading as low as $110.51 during the session. Meanwhile, U.S. oil settled down by $1.38 at $92.30, its weakest close since May 31, after declining to $91.77 earlier in the session.

Daily: European power prices mixed on different weather conditions in France, Germany

The price of benchmark Brent crude oil increased for a second consecutive session on Friday on short-covering. London-traded Brent settled 97 cents higher at $111.05 after setting a six-week high of $111.40.
