Daily: Crude oil prices rebound by 4% on production disruption concerns in Brazil, Libya

Crude oil prices rebounded by about 4 percent on Tuesday as a hike in U.S. gasoline and diesel after a disruption on a key pipeline system added further support to oil markets already buoyed by an industry strike in Brazil and force majeure for Libyan crude loadings. Brent crude edged $1.75 higher, or 3.6 percent, to settle at $50.54 a barrel, after hitting a peak of $50.91 during the session. U.S. crude boosted $1.76, or 3.8 percent, to close at $47.90. The session's peak was $48.36.

Daily: Crude oil rebounds from multi-month lows after a refinery outage in the U.S

Crude oil prices rebounded on Monday, up 4 percent after a hike in U.S. gasoline and diesel due to a refinery outage helped crude futures recover from multi-month lows. Brent boosted 3.7 percent, recording its largest gain since end-May. U.S. crude jumped 2.5 percent, its highest in two months. Brent crude advanced $1.80 to close at $50.41 a barrel. WTI crude added $1.09 to settle at $44.96 a barrel.

Daily: Europe power forward prices diverge tracking volatile fuel price trends

Crude oil prices declined by about 3 percent on Wednesday as traders and investors ignored a fifth consecutive weekly fall in U.S. crude inventories to concentrate instead on a big increase in distillates, including diesel as the peak season for road travel is arriving. Brent crude fell $1.69, or 2.6 percent, to close at $63.80 a barrel. U.S. crude tumbled 2.6 percent, or $1.62, to close at $59.64.

Petroleum products consumption increased worldwide

The world’s consumption of petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, heating oil, and other products reached a record high last year, even if there was a decline in consumption in North America and Europe. According to the Energy Information Administration, in 2012 the world consumed about 88.9 million barrels of petroleum products per day.

UK launched 25 billion fund for the construction of new biofuel plants

The Department for transport will present a fund of 25 million pounds which will be offered following a demonstration of the use of municipal waste and forestry residues or other advanced biofuel sources to produce fuels, helping UK to shift from fossil fuels as petrol and diesel.
