According to a report published by the energy consultancy Ecofys and the Global Call for Climate Action, technological options existing today and in the near future could help to trim down emissions to zero for about 90% of present sources of GHG emissions. The report stated that it is technically and economically possible to phase out net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions almost completely by 2050.
