Oil markets saw small fluctuations on Tuesday, with the Brent crude edging marginally upwards by 0.3%, to end at $68.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude rose by 0.6% to $65.28 a barrel.

Ukraine tests Zaporozhe for ENTSO-E synchronisation

Ukrainian nuclear power plant operator Energoatom and the country's transmission system operator Ukrenergo completed tests last week at unit 1 of the Zaporozhe nuclear power plant for the provision of ancillary frequency maintenance reserve services at +/-20 MW. The tests should confirm the compliance of the unit with the requirements of the Transmission System Code in order to obtain a certificate entitling Energoatom to introduce the power unit to the ancillary services market.

Polish solar output reaches record high

Solar power generation surpassed 3.4GW over 13:00-14:00 local time today, according to preliminary figures published by grid operator PSE, up from the previous record of 3.3GW yesterday. Wind power generation rose to around 7GW at 13:00-14:00 today, accounting for about one-third of Polish demand, PSE data show.

ETS price floor needed for German coal exit

The price floor would also provide "planning security" for investing in low-carbon capacities to replace the coal-fired capacities, Climate Neutrality Foundation managing director Rainer Baake said today at the presentation of the study, which was prepared by research institute Oeko-Institut.
