Putin tells Europe: Pay in roubles or we’ll cut off your gas
Russian President Vladimir Putin has demanded foreign buyers pay for Russian gas in roubles from Friday (1 April) or else have their supplies cut, a move European capitals rejected and which Germany said amounted to “blackmail”.

Daily (24.03.2022): Oil prices gained over 5% on Wednesday, on prospects of more sanctions against Russian oil and a drop in US commercial crude reserves
Crude oil prices increased sharply on Wednesday, amid anticipations of additional sanctions against Russia ahead of several key international summits. Moreover, US commercial crude stocks dropped by a larger-than-expected amount, lending additional support. Hence, Brent oil surged by 5.3% to $121.60 a barrel and WTI crude rose by 5.2% to $114.93 a barrel.

Germany signs initial contract to build first LNG terminal
The German state bank KfW and the Dutch utility Gasunie have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the construction of the first LNG terminal in Brunsbüttel, Germany.

Daily (04.02.2022): U.S. WTI crude jumped above $90 on Thursday for the first time since 2014
Oil prices climbed back above $90 a barrel, after OPEC and its oil-producing allies decided to stick to a previously announced schedule and increase March production by 400,000 barrels per day, despite mounting pressure from consuming countries to raise supply. Meanwhile, U.S. crude inventories dropped more than expected last week, with stockpiles sitting below their five-year average. As such, Brent crude moved 1.8% higher to $91.11 a barrel. The American WTI crude settled at $90.27, 2.3% up, for the first time since 2014, as demand for petroleum products surges.
