Meanwhile, WTI crude declined on signs of supply glut. Brent crude inched up 27 cents to close at $48.79 a barrel, while U.S. crude dropped 72 cents to settle at $45.59.

Crude oil prices reduced earlier losses, but still closed lower on Thursday after a government report showed the largest increase in U.S. crude stockpiles in at least 14 years. U.S. crude declined 1.47$ at $46.31. Brent closed at $48.52 a barrel after dropping 51 cents.

Global oil prices pared a two-day loss and increased by about 2 percent on Wednesday on expectations that prices will rebound as energy companies slashed production investment to ease an oversupply that erased more than half crude’s value since June. Brent crude boosted $1.04 to settle at $49.03 a barrel, while WTI crude climbed $1.31 to close at $47.78 a barrel.
