REpower to deliver wind turbines of latest generation in Turkey

Geycek wind farm in Kirsehir province East of Ankara, the largest wind farm of REpower in Europe, will get from REpower 44 wind turbines of 3.XM series, with an evaluated power of 3.37 MW each and a hub height of 80 meters, following the deal between REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) and Al Yel Elektrik, a subsidiary of Akuo Energy SAS.

Global solar installations expected to reach 11 GW in 2010

Barclays Capital analyst, Vishal Shah, has recently raised his forecasts for global solar installations for 2010, to 11 GW. In 2009, solar installations reached 7.2 GW, by 21 percent more from the previous year.

Petrom diversifies its power mix in Romania

Romanian oil and gas company, Petrom, plans to build a wind farm in Dobrogea, in south-eastern Romania. Starting with this project, the company wants to develop renewable energy and turn from a pure oil and gas company into an energy player in the Romanian energy market.
