European Commission approves up to €1.4 billion for fourth hydrogen IPCEI

The European Commission has approved, under EU State aid rules, a fourth Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) to support research, innovation and the first industrial deployment in the hydrogen value chain. Oil prices, which initially rose on Wednesday due to geopolitical risks and the upcoming OPEC+ meeting, reversed their course and ended lower. The world's two crude oil benchmarks initially gained ground after another attack on a ship in the Red Sea. However, the pressure from rising US bond yields took precedence, leading to about a 1% loss for both Brent and WTI Crude, which settled at $83.60 and $79.23, respectively.
