Denmark is getting rid of its last oil company as the petroleum age is slowly dying out. The most recent deals is the acquiring of Maersk Oil by the French giant Total for $7.45 which follows the sale of Dong Energy’s North Sea oil and gas production to Ineos AG.

Coal-generated power hit 135-year low in UK

Last month coal reached a historical low in the UK’s total energy mix, contributing only 2%, or the lowest level in the last 135 years. On the other side, gas-fired power represented around 40% of the total energy in the UK, nuclear power made up 32% and renewables accounted for 18%.

Daily (29.08.2017): Gasoline prices boosted by Hurricane Harvey, but crude oil prices lower

Oil prices fell on Monday as diminished oil supply was offset by the refinery shutdowns due to Hurricane Harvey. Traders expect refineries demanding less oil as they take weeks to come back on line. Brent crude, on the other hand, stayed stronger as the U.S. will demand product from Europe as well as due to some shut down of Libyan oil production over the weekend. Brent crude closed 1% down at $51.89, while WTI price lost 2.71% to end at $46.57 a barrel.
