U.S. solar industry up 109% in 2011

The U.S. solar energy industry installed a record of 1,855 MW of photovoltaic capacity in 2011, as revealed by a new U.S. Solar Market Insight report. The figure is more than the double of the previous annual record of 887 MW set in 2010 and represents a 109 % growth rate in 2011.

UK to cut its 2030 renewable energy target

Spain to double biomass production in 2012

According to a Spanish biomass association, the country could double its total biomass production this year compared with 2011, despite not achieving full capacity previous year. The country produced about 150,000 t of biomass previous year instead of total capacity of 651,000 t/year.
