The power capacity in Germany expected to increase by 12.3%

Power producers and transmission companies reported to energy exchange EEX that German power plant availability is expected to increase by 12.3% to 60,894 megawatts (MW) in the week to June 18, according to data from the bourse published on Friday.

ARMZ of Russia might become the third uranium producer

ARMZ, the state-controlled miner in Russia, the country with 1/10 of the world’s uranium reserves, intends to expand outside the country, aiming to become one of the third major producers in the world. It signed a transaction on Tuesday of acquiring the majority of shares in proportion of 51% in Uranium One, Canada.

New finances for Areva group to finish Olkiluoto nuclear reactor

French nuclear group Areva is preparing to take a loan of approximately 380 million euros for the completion of the construction of the Finnish nuclear reactor Olkiluoto, which is scheduled to start generating power by the end of 2012, with a delay of more than three years.
