UK: Centrica abandons plans to build new nuclear power plants
Centrica has announced that it intends to abandon plans to build new nuclear power stations in the UK because of the rising costs following changes to regulations after the Fukushima disaster in 2011. Centrica had been planning to build four plants with the French supplier EDF, but has now pulled out of the partnership.

China is devouring 33% of world’s solar panels
China is emerging now as a significant market for solar panels, not only as the largest solar panel supplier in the world, but also as an important consumer of these products. Gazprom to reduce natural gas prices for Europe in 2013
Gazprom, the leading European supplier of natural gas which supplies nearly a third of its gas, has come under increasing pressure from the supplier opponent, as well as Statoil, so that Russia would change the price of their policies in order to reflect the requirements of the buyer for cheaper gas.
