Lobby urges EU to make joint gas buying platform transparent
In the EC’s latest state of the energy union report released on Wednesday, it said a total of 75bcm of gas had been “matched” between 2023 and 2024 on the so-called AggregateEU platform, which was introduced in 2022 as an emergency measure to ensure security of gas and LNG supply and rein in competition and price spikes.

Oil prices rebounded on Wednesday, gaining over 2%, driven by concerns over potential supply disruptions from a hurricane in the US Gulf of Mexico. Brent crude closed at $70.61 per barrel, while WTI crude rose to $67.31 per barrel.

Italy’s 1st agrivoltaic auction oversubscribed on “generous” aid
Bids for larger agrivoltaics – the dual use of land for solar energy and farming – with capacity of more than 1 MW totalled 1,550 MW, more than doubling the 740 MW announced for the tender held last week, according to data from Italy’s energy ministry.
