China’s on grid solar capacity to triple by the end of 2013

According to China’s National Energy Administration (NEA), total grid-connected solar capacity in China could triple to 10 GW by the end of the year. The total grid installed generation capacity from all sources is predicted to reach 1,235GW by the end of this year, representing a 200% rise, in comparison to a year before.

Europe: Renewables share in power generation set to increase by 40% in 2020

The renewables’ contribution in Europe’s generation capacity is expected to increase to at least 40% by 2020, overtaking the capacity supplied by coal, natural gas and oil, declared the region’s grid operators group Entsoe.
