Russia starts pumping gas into Turkish Stream pipeline

Gazprom has started filling the 1st leg of the offshore section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline with gas, the project operator announced on October 18. This is the final stage of testing the pipeline before putting it into operation later this year, South Stream Transport said. It noted that the 1st deliveries are scheduled for the end of 2019.

Daily (21.10.2019): NBP spot jumped by 5.8% on Friday, due to unscheduled outages at the Forties oil and gas pipeline

Oil prices edged lower on Friday following data indicating that the Chinese economy registered the slowest growth in nearly three decades. Ongoing trade negotiations between China and U.S. and the rising amount in crude stockpiles also put pressure on prices. Hence, Brent crude dropped by 0.8% to end at $59.42 a barrel, while WTI futures lost 0.3% to settle at $53.78 a barrel.

Natural gas inventories surpass five-year average for the first time in two years

Working natural gas inventories in the Lower 48 states totaled 3,519 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ending October 11, 2019, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report (WNGSR). This is the first week that Lower 48 states’ working gas inventories have exceeded the previous five-year average since September 22, 2017. Weekly injections in three of the past four weeks each surpassed 100 Bcf, or about 27% more than typical injections for that time of year.
